Who is Superman?
His father Jor-El lives as a scientist on the distant planet Krypton, whose red sun shortly will blow up. To preserve his son from death, he sends the three-year old Kal-El in a small spacecraft to Earth. A married couple, the Kent find him and raise him as their own son. He is given the name Clark and now lives in Smallville, Kansas. As an adolescent he discovers his super powers and makes the decision to use them against criminals. In his everyday life he becomes Clark Kent, a mild-mannered reporter of the Daily Planet, where he also meets Lois Lane, who admires Superman but is often annoyed by Clark.
Super personnel and equipment
Through the power of the yellow sun of the Earth he has been equipped with special super powers. He is faster than a bullet, more powerful than a locomotive and can leap tall buildings in a single bound. He is also invulnerable, has a super hearing, a heat view, an X-ray view, a microscope view, a telescopic sight, a super-breath which enables him to freeze things and people and he can fly. The most important garment is his costume, the cape. Legendary are the scenes in which Clark Kent runs into a phone booth and turns into Superman. His opponents often use Kryptonite in order him to deprive him of his super powers that don’t work near the material.
The Superman universe Superman's main haunt is Metropolis. From there he flies to all the places in the world where he is needed. The most important figure at his side is his work colleague Lois Lane. Over the decades, many figures have been added, that usually meet both Clark and Superman. Other characters are Pete Ross, Lana Lang and Jimmy Olson. Superman often fights at the side of other superheroes such as Batman and Wonder Woman and is one of the founding members of the League of Righteous ". One of the secrets of the mysterious comics is the question why nobody recognizes that Superman and Clark Kent are the same, since he, unlike for example Batman, has no mask. It is precisely the moment of transformation that is often discussed and leads to interesting twists.
Super Mans enemies and friends
Super Mans archenemy is Lex Luthor. In addition since his invention he has dealt with countless villains. The main opponents include Brainiac, Mr. Mxyzptlk, Bizarro, Doomsday and Hank Henshaw. Typical of the Superman series is that it is always in tune to the”zeitgeist” of the time. In the Second World War he fights against the Nazis and later against global firms.
The History of Comics
Superman is widely recognized as the first superhero in the history of comics. He was invented by Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel in the 1930s. Initially, he was a bald villain and only after a time does he become a fighter figure for the good cause. At first, the Superman comics were just a comic created by amateurs. First published in 1938, Superman became part of the "Action Comics # 1". In market studies, it was found out that readers were especially pleased by this character; therefore he became the main figure in the series. In the following decades, Superman has risen to a worldwide box-office hit and continues to be so today. Because were several series made of the comic they were divided into four sections, being the Golden, Silver, Bronze and Modern Age. An important turning point in the Superman story is the "Crisis on Infinite Earths," a mini-series, in which the hitherto existing parallel universes of the Superman world turned into one. The editors were forced to end this parallel world because the comics were becoming more complex and therefore sometimes the stories credibility suffered.
