
	The plot The film picks up two years after the first one. Reed Richards and Sue Storm are preparing for their wedding. A silver object enters Earth's atmosphere, radiating cosmic energy that creates massive molecular fluctuations and causes deep craters at locations across the Earth. The government approaches Reed to build a radar to track the movements of the object. As the wedding begins, Reed's systems detect a phenomenon approaching New York City, causing a massive power blackout.The Silver Surfer appears and defeats Johnny in a battle.The good thing being that due to a molecular structure in flux allows the team to swap and transfer their superpowers between them.Reed discovers that all the planets the Surfer has visited, have all been destroyed. Doom reappears as the comsic energy has set him free. The Silver Surfer turns down an offer to team up with Doom and they fight. Doom loses but is restored back to his former self. He then joins forces with the military and the Fantastic Four are forced to work with him against the Surfer.Their plan is to seperate the Surfer from his board. During this battle, the Surfer reveals to Sue that he is merely a servant to the destroyer of worlds and that he regrets the damage he makes. The plan of the four work and the Surfer is seperated from his board and put into a Siberian Prison. Although the Four are forbidden by the army to talk to the Surfer, Sue uses her powers and finds out that Galactus is main villian and that his board is a tracking device that Galactus will be tracking now. Doom, pursuing the power in the board, steals it from the compound, using a device to gain control of the board and its powers. The Fantastic Four rescue the Surfer, and pursue Doom in the Fantasticar, confronting him in China. During the battle, Sue is mortally wounded. With the Surfer powerless, Johnny absorbs the combined powers of the entire team in order to battle the cosmic energy-empowered Doom. Johnny succeeds in breaking Doom's control over the Surfer's board, while Ben Grimm uses a nearby crane to knock Doom into the harbor where he is last seen sinking; however, Galactus has already arrived. The Surfer regains the control of his board, and his power is restored. He revives Sue and chooses to defend Earth, flying into Galactus and confronting him. The conflict results in a massive blast of energy, apparently destroying Galactus, while the Silver Surfer survives and so Reed and Sue can finally marry. Cast The Fantastic Four were played by Ioan Gruffudd (Mr. Fantastic), Jessica Alba (The Invisible), Chris Evans (Human Torch) and Michael Chiklis (thing). Also Doctor Doom is again played by Julian McMahon. New to the set was Doug Jones as the charismatic Silver Surfer. Prizes and Reviews The film did not have the same success as it’s predecessor, but it was still very successful commercially. The critics did not respond so well seeing the action as too inconsistent, illogical and quite boring. Furthermore, it was often criticized that the individual characters were not convincing and their action motives remained in the dark. Overall, only the Silver Surfer came out top, maybe getting his own film soon.
