
	The plot Superman has been missing for five years. He has been searching for remains of Krypton. He returns to Earth in a craft very like the one he arrived with the first time. He lands in the same corn field. He returns to his job at the Daily Planet. There he is sad to learn that Lois Lane has won the Pulitzer Prize for an article called “Why the World doesn’t need superman”. Since he was gone, Lex Luthor has been let out of prison, as Superman was away and did not testify against him. He marries a rich widow and gains her money as she dies.Lex steals Kryptonian crystals from the fortress of Solitude. Experimenting with them, he causes a blackout and a space shuttle rams a plane, in which Lane is also sitting. Superman saves the plane and her. But Lane is going to marry Richard White and she has a son called Jason. Clark is sad and hurt and works double time, trying to forget her. He can’t and visits her as Superman and apologizes to her, for leaving her. Lane then turns her attention back to the blackout and while doing her research, she and her son board a ship that belongs to Luthor. There they are captured. Luthor reveals his plan, he wants to grow a new continental landmass, killing billions and making him the new landmass owner. Jason then saves his mother using supernatural strength. They call on Superman and he arrives and saves them. Luthor stabs Superman with a shard of Kryptonite, he can save the world but falls into the coma. He only awakes when Lois reveals him a secret, whispering in his ear. The secret is of course that Jason is his son. He assures her that he is now here to stay and is ready to protect the world. Cast Brandon Routh plays the role of the Super Mans and is convincing through his style. As Lex Luthor Kevin Spacey is a fabulous choice. Only Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane does not really fulfill the part. Prizes and Reviews There were nominations for the Oscar and BAFTA. Brandon Routh won the Empire Award. The critics' opinions were divided. Some saw a big Hollywood movie, while others criticized the rather thin story. Also critical was Kate Bosworth who was not a hit with the batman fans.
