The plot
Peter Parker is an orphan and is raised by his Aunt May and Uncle Ben. He is a loner, without self-awareness and because of it unpopular. At an excursion, he is bitten by an irradiated spider which causes changes in his body, giving him spider-like super powers. He devolpes additional body strength and stamina, is agile and quick, can cling to walls and develops a spider sense (like a sixth sense) that tells him if danger is near. His body can produce webs, which he later uses to hunt criminals. Parker is in love with Mary Jane Watson and wants to impress her with a new car so he takes part at a wrestling tournament in which he involuntarily called "Spider-Man". When Peter goes to pick up his prize money, he witnesses a robbery, which he, despite his super powers does not prevent, since the organizer wanted to pay a ridiculously low sum as prize money. But the thief kills his uncle Ben as he flees. Peter is beside himself and uses his new powers to find the murderer. It becomes clear to him that the death of his beloved uncle may have prevented if he had stopped the thief in the first place. The motto of his dead uncle: "with great power comes great responsibility" becomes his own motto as super hero. While Peter Parker is turning into Spider-Man, Norman Osborne the father of his best friend Norman is experimenting with a performance enhancing chemical vapor. Since there are no actual results and the military threatens to cut research funds, Osborn sees himself forced to experiment the vapor on his own body. Mary is also on the balcony and gets saved at the last second by Spider-Man Norman Osborne takes a liking to his dark side and wants to convince Spider-Man to join him and rule the world. He soon finds out that Spider-Man and Peter Parker have the same identity and subsequently attacks Aunt May. Then he kidnappes Mary Jane and a bus full of kids and Spider-Man is faced with the choice of saving a group of children or his sweetheart. Spider-Man to the horror of his enemy saves both and wins the last showdown. thanks to his webbing skills.
